Description
Did you know chocolate originally comes from a fruit? Each fruit pod of the cocoa tree contains 40-50 seeds, also known as cocoa beans. These beans are finely ground into Cocoa Powder. Anthony's Organic Black Cocoa Powder has a dark, almost black color with a fat content of 10-12%. This percentage refers to the amount of cocoa butter left in the powder during processing. Compared to our regular cocoa powder, our Black Cocoa is dutch processed (alkalized), resulting in a smooth and less acidic finish. Due to its less acidity, Dutched Cocoa is usually used along with baking powder while non-alkalized cocoa calls for baking soda in recipes. Our Organic Black Cocoa Powder is delicious in baking, chocolate-making, no-bake recipes, and even in spice rubs for meat! You can even make homemade, chocolate scented soaps and scrubs! Anthony's Black Cocoa Powder is Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Unsweetened, and Alkalized.
