Description Our organically-grown deep orange Calendula officinalis flower heads (seeds & petals) mixed with organic German Chamomile flowers are slowly infused (6 weeks) into organic cold-pressed sweet almond oil at a controlled temperature for optimum extraction. We produce our plant oils only in small batches using organic and responsibly sourced ingredients. This is not an essential oil as Calendula flowers are low in volatile compounds (~0.2%) and render low distillation rates. The unique way to capture all benefits of these plants is to slowly extract the whole flower head (seeds & petals) into an oil that promotes their beneficial properties. Calendula is a well-known versatile plant recognized for its ability to moisturize dry skin. Can be used as it is, in massage mixtures with other oils, or for the enrichment of skincare products (salves, creams, masks). To preserve and maintain the beneficial properties of Calendula & Chamomile oil for years, we package our oils in light-resistant, amber glass bottles which prevent light degradation. This oil is made at a botanical extract ratio of 1:5, which means 1-part flowers to 5-parts sweet almond oil which translates to 17% botanicals in each bottle. We do not include any fragrance or extracts in our oils to make them suitable for delicate baby skin as well as, sensitive skin.
