Each vanilla bean is more than 5.5 inches (15-16 cm) long, packed with gorgeous black seeds and plump with its correct moisture content, unlike the dried-out beans you often see in supermarkets. These are the dominant planifolia variety, as distinguished from the shorter, drier Tahitian bean.Fabulous in creamy desserts such as homemade ice cream and creme brulee, white cakes and baked goods, as well as fancy savory dishes.
