About Me Like most young Black girls, during my childhood and young adulthood, I enjoyed the straight, flowing hair that came from chemical relaxers. But over time, I became frustrated with the thinning, limp hair that resulted from years of over-processing and took the leap to "go natural" in 2005. Excited for all the healthy new growth in the following years, I never regretted the decision, but I had NO IDEA how to style my new thick coils! It wasn't until moving to a desert climate that I truly understood the natural hair struggle! I spent MONTHS researching natural hair products, ingredients, tools and techniques and discovered that all natural styles had one common denominator - A GREAT MOISTURIZER!! Natural hair products were scarce at that time and the few available were full of unnecessary chemicals and cheap fillers (many still are) that didn't deliver the moisture my hair needed, in fact, many of them made my hair even more dry! Fed up with the lack of quality products, I decided to formulate my own and thanks to my curiosity, creativity, patience and dogged determination, I'm now the Moisturizer-In-Chief of Chubby Curls Hair Products!
