Description
Chocobananos are traditional snacks from the Central American region. They most likely were invented by our indigenous ancestors, because they loved cacao and bananas. A chocobanano is a low cost and nutritious snack, easy to make and to keep in the fridge as a ready-to-eat snack. Back in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua you can find chocobananos at every mama & papa store. To make chocobananos is not only fun, but it can also be a means of earning extra money, at least in countries like El Salvador it is. Many families make chocobananos to sell in their neighborhoods and pay part of their expenses with the money made. Melher is proud to be part of the creation and maintenance of this culture that passes from generation to generation: the culture of making chocobananos.
