Organic Extra Virgin Raw Coconut Oil (cold-pressed) 1L. Coconut Oil is the beneficial fat from the coconut. Grinding coconut meat produces coconut milk, from which the oil is extracted. Sevenhills Wholefoods' coconut oil is sourced from the Philippines, which has the ideal conditions for coconuts to flourish, in tropical, coastal areas with high temperatures and humidity levels. Sevenhills Wholefoods' coconut oil is cold-pressed using fresh coconuts sourced by local farmers. As the product remains raw during production, nutrients are retained as much as possible. Sevenhills Wholefoods coconut oil solidifies at room temperature, but with the addition of heat can become liquid. Coconut oil is believed to increase energy expenditure when compared to other, longer-chain fats. Added to this, the fatty acids in coconut oil have been known to reduce appetite, which potentially could lead to weight-loss in the long-term. More than 90% of coconut oil consists of healthy saturated fats, along with traces of a few unsaturated fatty acids, such as monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Aside from its various culinary uses, coconut oil has been known to help maintain healthy skin, teeth and hair.
