Palouse Brand small brown lentils are the Pardina variety of lentils which are increasingly difficult to find in North American grocery stores. Our 5 pound lentils are packaged in a burlap bag. Our burlap bags are plant-based, with the vegetable fibers being spun into strong threads to make the fabric. This kind of packaging is important for our products, keeping the inside of the bag dark and preserving the color of our lentils. Brown lentils are a great alternative protein source though they can be used in baking as well. Palouse Brand brown lentils are triple cleaned to ensure the highest quality of product for our customers. The Mader family is a fifth generation farming family in eastern Washington who launched the vertically integrated Palouse Brand small bag line in 2009. Being vertically integrated we have the capability to provide our customers with harvest dates, field locations, crop year information, and use feedback from our customers and apply it to our farming practices. Palouse Brand lentils are Non-GMO Project Verified, Certified Kosher Parve, and Certified Sustainable by the Food Alliance.
