Description Heilala Vanilla is the good vanilla, from the quality of our extensive vanilla product range, to our humanitarian roots in the South Pacific. Our story begins in 2002, in the wake of devastating Cyclone Waka, a retired New Zealand farmer headed to the Polynesian island nation of Tonga to assist with the clean up and rebuild of some of the worst-hit communities. The people thanked him for his efforts by gifting him a plot of land he could use to provide employment for people in the village, and thus, Heilala Vanilla was born. To this day, our mission remains to empower the people of Tonga with a rich local industry and thriving future, and to promote inter-generational self-sufficiency through superior quality vanilla. Being the world's most awarded vanilla is no accident though, and starts all the way back on the vanilla vine. Every vanilla bean is hand pollinated, hand selected and hand picked to ensure only the finest vanilla bean pods are used. From out on the farm, to crafting and manufacturing our products, Heilala manages every step of the process to create the highest quality vanilla. We are the only vanilla company that is directly involved in planting, growing, harvesting, processing, and marketing their vanilla, and it is our community focus and unique bean to bottle supply chain that ensures the company is sustainable for generations to come.
